What if the physical event gets cancelled?

Are the Melanoma March physical events COVID Safe?
Each Melanoma March physical event will have a COVID Safe plan approved by the relevant federal, state, and local health authorities. Some measures we will have in place include:
Pre-Event
- Approved COVID Safe plan.
- We may assign you an arrival time to limit the number of people onsite at any one time.
- We will send you a safety briefing via email prior to the event.
At the Event
- We will have specifically appointed COVID Safety Marshals.
- Hand sanitiser will be available.
- There will be minimal speeches and limited announcements, so you will be able start marching soon after you arrive.
- To manage crowd density, maximise contactless procedures and reduce cross contamination:
- All participants are required to register prior to the event. Registrations on the day will not be available.
- Merchandise will not be sold at the events and can only be purchased via our online shop.
- There will be no food or entertainment.
This continues to be a highly dynamic situation and we will continue to adapt and adjust as appropriate. For all the latest information, check your local event page.
Even though there are a few changes to the structure, it’s still the same important cause and a chance for us to come together safely to celebrate our 10th anniversary year!

When you visit your fundraising page, you’ll see a “donate from your pay” button. If your employer (or your supporters’ employer) appears in the list, then you can donate through your pay, pre-tax, through Workplace Giving.

HOW DO I STAY SUN SAFE?
-
Overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) light causes 95% of melanoma. The best way to prevent melanoma is to protect your skin from the sun by following the five sun safe rules:
Seek shade, especially in the hottest part of the day. Wear sun-protective clothing that covers your back, shoulders, arms and legs. Wear a broad-brimmed hat. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 50+ every 2 hours and after swimming or exercise. Wear wrap-around sunglasses. Click here to find out more information about sun protection.
